Aerelink to deliver UK Broadband licensed WiMAX Services
Wireless network solutions provider Aerelink has signed an agreement with UK Broadband to become one of its resellers of licensed WiMAX services in the UK.
Through this agreement, Aerelink will be capable of delivering fast, reliable and all-pervasive wireless networks using UK Broadband’s 3.5GHz licensed wireless spectrum to help bridge the digital divide in rural Britain. It will also allow Aerelink to provide further cost-effective and reliable communications solutions to public sector and private enterprise customers across the UK.
“Not only is this a fantastic commercial opportunity for Aerelink, it is also very closely aligned with the work that Aerelink does around developing a sustainable local economy and bridging the digital divide,” says Steve Swift, managing director of Aerelink.
Aerelink is a recognised leader in WiMAX technology, having delivered the first Alvarion licensed WiMAX network in the UK for a Southern Council in 2008, enabling an Urban Traffic Management project.
The agreement adds another service to Aerelink’s comprehensive communications portfolio, complementing existing unlicensed wireless solutions, licensed microwave and Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) services.
UK Broadband (UKB) is the UK’s largest commercial holder of licensed national radio spectrum for 4G mobiles services and fast wireless backhaul. UKB provides wireless data capacity, equipment, services and solutions to the telecoms industry, service providers, channel partners and the public sector in the UK.
